Laboratoires Expanscience Employs Upcycling To Develop Cutting-Edge Ingredients

Visit booth 51 to learn more about this sustainable approach which minimizes waste and drives innovation.

Expanscience (stand 51) embraces upcycling to reduce waste, minimize the need for new resources and promote sustainability. An excellent example of this is its avocado sourcing, which undergoes a triple upcycling process, resulting in six cosmetic ingredients.

Expanscience starts by selecting avocados unsuitable for food consumption, utilizing the entire fruit, including the skin, pulp and core. Through dehydration and pressing, avocado oil is extracted and avocado pressed cakes created. The oil is used for pharmaceutical purposes, while the by-product is upcycled in two cosmetic-grade avocado oils and a sebo-regulating active ingredient.

Furthermore, Expanscience extracts valuable compounds from the avocado cakes, such as avocado peptides and polyphenols, and repurposes the remaining cakes as a gentle powder scrub. Expanscience's commitment to upcycling showcases its dedication to sustainable and innovative industrialization.

Join Expanscience at booth 51 to delve into its diverse upcycling processes further. Its innovative upcycling solutions, transform ingredients for a greener, more sustainable future in sunscreen production.
